I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor working with individuals, couples and families. My practice is in Stanmore, Harrow North West London. I also see clients online.
When you arrive for your first session I will do all that I can to help you feel at ease. I am interested in getting to know you and hearing about what it is that has brought you to counselling.
I will explain my confidentiality policy to you and you are most welcome to ask me questions about counselling and the way I work.
You may wish to discuss what you are hoping to gain from counselling, or you might not be sure yet. Often this becomes clearer as therapy progresses. It may be that you are feeling distressed and want to speak about your issue immediately.
I am here to listen and to support you in moving forward. People often find that counselling helps them to reach understandings and to know themselves at a deeper level.
I am experienced in working with clients from various backgrounds and cultures. I am concerned with your feelings, emotions and moods. I am also interested in external pressures from work, school, family the media and so on.
People choose counselling for many reasons, here are a few examples:
Past events are causing you distress
Managing your anger is a problem
An addiction is affecting your life and well being
You suffer with stress, anxiety and panic attacks
You are feeling sad, confused, worried, afraid, depressed.
You are experiencing tensions in your relationships
Counselling is a space entirely for you to concentrate upon your own needs, troubles and concerns. It is important that you feel comfortable enough to talk about whatever matters, knowing that I will not judge you and that I will respect and accept you warmly.
